Welcome back to Term 4

Welcome back to Term 4.

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday. I would like to welcome all new students who have commenced this term, and those still to commence in the next week or so. The term has started as a busy term, and due to it being the shortest term of the year, this just adds a little bit more pressure. I would encourage you, if you have a graduating year 12 student in your home to help them manage their busy final weeks, and not give up. As I write, I realise that they only have 5 weeks to go before the graduation ceremony. For all other students, it is only 7 ½ weeks remaining.

There will be a change from the traditional Glendyne graduation ceremony this year. In the past, all students received their awards at the year 12 graduation. However, in some ways this signaled the end of the year for students not graduating, and they still had time to achieve much more in the time post the graduation ceremony. So this year, graduation day for year 12’s will be on the 16th November commencing at 10.30am and concluding with lunch at 11.30am. All students will be in attendance, and only the parents of graduating year 12’s will be invited to the ceremony, and to stay on for lunch at the school. An invitation to the parents of the graduating year 12’s will be sent out shortly.

On Friday the 30th of November, students from year 6 to year 11 will receive their awards at an awards ceremony at the school, that will commence at 9.00am and conclude by 10.00am. Students will then proceed to a beach destination for a school Christmas party for the remainder of the day. Parents of year 6 – 11 students will be invited to attend the awards ceremony.

Have a great rest of term, and hopefully see you on the 26 of October when Glendyne celebrates 20 years of service to the local community.
