Curriculum Choices.

Years 9 & 10.

Years 9 & 10 subjects include;

• English (Literacy),
• Maths (Numeracy),
• Science,
• SOSE,
• Art,
• Technology,
• H&PE

These subjects are delivered differently to mainstream schools. In mainstream schools the subjects are normally 'stand alone', where as at Glendyne they are delivered as subjects embedded into vocational areas that have a more hands-on approach. For example, our 'Life Skills' course delivers some of the health areas of H&PE. SOSE is incorporated into hospitality.

Years 11 & 12.

Years 11 and 12 VET core subjects include the following;

• Certificate 1 in Information Technology.
• Vocational Literacy.
• Vocational Numeracy.
• Life Skills.
• Sport.

Years 11 and 12 VET elective subjects include the following;

• Certificate 1 & 2 in Hospitality.
• Certificate 1 in Furniture Making.
• Certificate 2 in Engineering - Production.
• Certificate 1 in Art.
• Certificate 2 in Retail.

We also partner with the Wide Bay Institute of TAFE for other course options for year 11's and 12's. These courses are held at TAFE on Mondays and Fridays. Click here to go to the Wide Bay Institute of TAFE website.
